AMBA by Shamane Tan

I’m Shamane Tan.

Shamane Tan

I’m the Founder & Chief Growth Strategist at AMBA. I work with growth-stage technology, AI and cybersecurity founders and leadership teams across Australia, Singapore and APAC to work out which growth move deserves their attention next.

I bring more than 15 years of experience overall, including more than a decade in go-to-market across technology, cybersecurity and AI. I previously led growth as Chief Growth Officer at Sekuro APAC and later at Insight in the US. Earlier in my career, I worked in executive recruitment. Those roles gave me a close view of how leaders and companies communicate their value.

That’s the work I bring to AMBA: helping leaders decide what matters now, shape how the business is understood and bring its expertise into the right conversations. Depending on what a business needs, I provide strategic guidance or hands-on support within the agreed scope.

Outside AMBA, I’ve written four books. Cyber Mayday and the Day After became a bestseller. My latest book, Who Told You You Couldn’t?, is published by Penguin Random House SEA. I’m also a TEDx speaker. My talk, The Imposter Syndrome of the Tall Poppies, explores the assumptions that can hold capable people back.

I’ve delivered more than 50 keynotes across eight countries and was named a LinkedIn Top Voice in 2026. I also founded Cyber Risk Meetup, now a community of more than 5,000 members across Australia and Asia.

The question I keep returning to is: who told you this was the only way? At AMBA, I ask the business version: what is the move that can unlock momentum now?
